first school visit

Last week we went on a visit to a Swedish school. It was the first of a few visits that we get to go on as part of our course.
I enjoyed observing the class and took A LOT of notes. I did not agree with everything that I saw, but its all part of my professional development as a teacher. I was planning on posting some of my notes on here, but I think I'll keep them to myself this time...

Last night we made a spontaneous decision to have a sleep over in my room! Matresses on the floor, pajamas, girly movie, and junk food. It was a little bit squishy, because our rooms aren't really made for 4 people! But it was lots of fun all the same.

It looks like the idea of a blog has caught on. while I was napping on the couch on level 1 this week, one of the other aussie girls decided to set up a blog also. We were all talking about the nuisance of group emails, and so, it has become a trend. Everyone is jumping on the blog bandwagon.

Anyways, I need to scurry off to uni. So here are some more pics from Budapest to keep you entertained.

Budapest

Some facts about Budapest:

*It is split down the middle by the Danube river

* One side is called Buda and the other Pest

*It has lots of old buildings

*It has an interesting smell that we like to call the Hungarian Whiff

So, yesterday we went a little bit crazy and as a result I am now going to Budapest for the weekend! Crazy I know, but how often will I have the opportunity to fly around Europe like this.

We also booked flights to Berlin for $75 return, as there was a sale on.

We tried to book flights to Portugal, but couldn't get ourselves organised in time. But hopefully we will be able to organise that in the next few weeks.

I'm still on the look out for super cheap flights to London. Apparently you can find flights for 99p or even free! So hopefully will make a day trip or weekend in London sometime soon as well.
I think I have caught the travel bug, and it's dangerous!

Sorry that I have been a bit slack with posting. I like to upload photos whenever I post, thinking that no one actually wants to hear what I have to say, they just want to see photographic evidence of what I have been doing.
Unfortunately I do not have many exciting photos to share with you this time. Just some interesting information about what I have been up to in the last week.

01 Uni classes started last week. The course has a lot of contact hours compared to some of the other courses offered, but the subject material is quite interesting. We have had a lot of tutorials not any lectures. Here we do only one subject at a time, and study it for 10 weeks. Then we move on to another subject.

02 Ellen turned 20, and had a 'back in time' party. It was the first dress up party of the season and most people made an effort which was great to see.

03 I stayed up until 3am on Friday night, 5am on Saturday night and 3am on Sunday night. Just because I could.

04 I have been continuing to decorate my room, and received some beautiful drawings and paintings from my friend Heidi (age 3) which I have put up on my wall.

05 I recieved a parcel from my family, which included lots of clothes, vegemite, milo, and a frankie magazine.

06 Monday is washing day. And sadly it has become a highlight for me. In this crazy lifestyle, it's one constant that I can rely on. (Not excluding God)

07 I received my first bills here is Sweden. Exciting and not so exciting all at the same time.

08 I dressed up as Sailor Moon on the weekend.

09 I took a trip in a car that wasn't a taxi.

10 oh, and Katelyn is asleep on my bed. Shhh...

Last night a group of us (mainly the Spanish) got together to play a game of soccer. Was a really fun time and everyone had a go, no matter of skill level. I even managed to score and goal and ended my night with a big fall and a minor concussion!
